Hey Everybody Erick Nording is coming to the Briary in Birmingham. This is the email I just got from them. I am going and taking my pipe club anyone interested in car pooling from West Georgia let me know. Google TheBriary to get their address.

We are more than excited to  announce that our friend Erick Nording will be the pipe maker at our annual event on Saturday February 4th. It will be held from 10-4. I have been trying to nail this down for quite a while. As we move forward more details will be available.

Some of you might have met him when he was here a few years ago. For those that did not, let me tell you that he is one of the most entertaining people that you will meet. He is one of if not the most famous pipe maker in the world. We would love for you to come meet him.

Erick wants to feature not only his pipes but his superb Nording cigars. They are produced by Rocky Patel. Our new Patel sales rep, Rachael will be here to assist. You can expect some great deals on the cigars.

There are a lot of cigar events to go to but very few pipe shows so by all means try to attend.

That would be another highlight of my New Year. However, it's just too far from Wisconsin. I have such great respect for Erick. I will share with you that last weekend I was skiing in Wisconsinn with my pipe and Captain Bob's Blend. A gentleman, two kids and a wife stopped next to me and complimented me on my pipe! That is very strange. That was, until he handed me his business card which said "Alex Florov"! I just about fainted. He asked my name and I told him "Bob Coffey". Then, I said, in the pipe tobacco world they call me "Captain Bob" because I created this blend with Craig Tarler of C&D that I am smoking. Alex replied "I know who you are"! Well, I ask you folks, what are the chances of that meeting? In Wisconsin among 2000 people on a ski hill with nine chair lifts and 75 ski runs? And, I got to meet Alex Florov! The moral of this story is "always keep your pipe in your chops... you never know who will meet"! I wish I could join you all, but it is just to far for me to travel with my work schedule. I met Erik at Chief Catoonah's Smoke shop in Ridgfield CT some years back. He had his "Worlds Biggest Pipe" with him, a pipe made of several hundred other pipes.
Really a delightful man to talk to, if you don't want to talk pipes he'll talk hunting all day long. If you possibly get to The Briary do it.
