A good Meer smokes cool and clean (no other flavor than the tobacco) ... Whether you will like it or not I cant say, as I cannot answer for you, also I dont know anyting about that company so I wouldnt be much help there either.
But I do recommend Meer's... I only have 2 cheapy ones and even those smoke great, I cant wait to be able to afford a well made one.

One thing that throws people off who are new to Meerschaum is the bowl gets hot. With a Meer, that's supposed to happen. It dissipates the heat through the bowl and the smoke stays cool. Your favorite tobacco will also taste different because the Meerschaum doesn't impart its own flavor. Benefits are you can smoke multiple bowls back to back with just a swab from a dry pipe cleaner in between and that a Meerschaum needs no break-in period or cake. Other than that it's purely aesthetic.
If you buy a Meer, make sure the drilling is straight and that the draft hole is at the center on the bottom of the bowl like any good pipe. The larger briar-type delrin tenons are the best and as long as there is not an extreme bend or a bunch or removable nodes, the pipe should pass a cleaner from button to bowl. If you don't know this information and you are buying online ask the seller.

I am pretty new to pipes... but I did pick up a storient slightly bent bulldog... for around the money you have. I like it because I can go back to back with bowls... and of all my pipes... 6 now... it is consistently the best smoker...
don't know anything of the company you mention... I saw lots of cool choices as well... I ended up following the advice of the forum folks...

I have 2 Paykoc Meerschaums and a Storient. The Storient is the best smoker, but the Paykocs have improved sice I had Walker Briar Works open the airway. I've heard good things about the site you mentioned and you'll be OK as long as you do what I mentioned above.
Another thing I might add is pay attention to bowl dimensions, particularly the inner bowl diameter (should be about .75") and depth (should be 1.5-2"). The figural Meers can be 2.5" tall with a tiny bowl!

One other very nice feature about a meerschaum pipe is that, unlike briar or cherry wood, it doesn't expand and contract with heat changes. As such, I can clean out and re smoke the same meer several times in a day. It's great for those times when I find myself with several pleasant smoke breaks, but don't want to accumulate 3-4 briars to clean up the next day.
