Thanks. All of mine with that stummel design, as well as most of my kalmasch pipes, fit the same stem size. Also, two of my round stummel ones, like the OP's, arrived in cases with the mortise end open and no stem. All of this makes me think that there was a standard stummel shank opening and stem size for such pipes (or most of them), for the convenience of smokers who just wanted to go in and grab a stummel or stem replacement for an inexpensive pipe. Maybe most/all of the stummels were being made in one place and shipped all over the world? Like Vienna, as
@RustiePyles CPG suggested. Also, if the stem/shank match was slightly off, you could always get a piece of cork and carve on a stem if needed, to make things work.
