McCranies locations

Hey anyone local to McCranies. What's your suggestion between the Park Road location vs. the Lake Norman one? I'll find myself down in the area in a few days and assuming I have some time, plan to head over to one of them.

Lake Norman is kind of on the way down, but Lake Norman traffic is also a disaster in my experience that I'm hesitant to waste any time on unless that location is notably better compared to the Park Road spot.

On the topic of them, what's the general thoughts on their current house blends from a Virginia/light aro smoker?

The Lake Norman one is a nice little shop in a shopping center but in my opinion it's worth the drive to the original Park Road shop. It's the original standalone building and although the McClelland is gone and the pipe selection is smaller than it used to be, it's still got the McCranie's vibe.

If all you want is to buy some tobacco then either will work, but I always drive the little extra distance coming from north of Charlotte to go to the original.

Go to the original Park Road location. Much larger selection for both pipes and tobaccos.
