At this point, I believe there have been more end of the world threads about Sutliff closing than when McC shut the doors.
I just want to say
1. I’m embarrassed
2. Shame on all of you
3. The number of knee jerk Nancie’s has grown exponentially since McC said goodnight
4. There’s probably 5 guys here who have been omniscient since ‘08, have every change come and go, and have 700 pounds of (whatever the flavor du jour) in fancy Mylar bags.

Maybe can we have something other than fifteen fucking threads that get the same replies?

You're forgetting that 19 out of 20 people who start pipe smoking quit by the two year mark (nothing new, it's always been that way), and it has been six years since McC closed shop.

Then add two tablespoons of the fact that the born-into-social-media-generation reached smoking age since then as well.

Blend on high for 30 seconds, and pour into a tall chilled glass.

In case you haven't noticed, this is the Pipes Magazine forum, where a post about how to light a pipe will get a minimum of 191 responses, including diagrams, as well as links to articles and a couple of hundred YouTube videos on the topic.

That's in addition to the thirty to forty thousand threads on how to clean a pipe.

A few threads on Sutliff kicking the bucket doesn't seem out of scale under the circumstances.

You forgot the 60K threads about making green stems black again.

You are on a forum, where everyone is free to express their thoughts and opinions, even if you find them stupid or mundane.
If you don't want none of that, you should stick to writing memoirs... and don't ever publish them, of course. :D
That cuts both ways. If everyone is free "to express their thoughts and opinions," then one is free to express their thoughts and opinions on how everyone else's thoughts and opinions are stupid or mundane. It's the George Carlin interpretation of freedom of speech writ large.

That being said, as much as I enjoy the playful ribbing, it does seem to be unfair to whine about people talking about the Sutliff ordeal too much. This is a pipe smoking forum, and that topic is some of the biggest news concerning such in a long time. What else are they going to talk about? It sure beats another thread where people keep evoking the spirit of Orwell's 1984 every time some unimportant bureaucrat has the temerity to suggest that efforts be made to get people to smoke less. puffy

Ah, well, but, eh… except for that one time some fella wrote an honest review about a real tobacco blend that everyone could purchase … and the response went on and on, page after page, about nothing that had to do with the review… what was the name of that blend again? Bipolar something or the other…Anyway, the responses were all over the page, the emotions people EXPRESSed were up and down, high and low, positive and negative, happy and sad.… all because of some name given to a tobacco blend. It should come as no surprise then that we now have many, many posts about the merger of companies, the end of the world, and dismay over the fact that we have so many posts. We now have in the span of a few minutes two threads mocking the fact that we have three threads upset over one merger. So.… yeh, I guess maybe we are free to prattle on,😂
