interesting! I never thought about that oneBombay court. I’ve only tried that one and I’d be happy smoking it exclusively
The green label tins, particularly numbers 6 and 12 are worthwhile in my opinion. Arcadia is also a favorite.Talk to me about these catagories from McClelland. Their virginia blends may be overshadowing them, but are any really worth the squeeze if the price is right? List some of your favorites below.
interesting! Curious on your thoughts on No 14? I heard a lot of folks like that one!The green label tins, particularly numbers 6 and 12 are worthwhile in my opinion. Arcadia is also a favorite.
14 is the lat heaviest one and as such I think the orientals and virginia are overshadowed. I enjoy 1 and 8 as well but agree 6 and 12 are both exceptional.interesting! Curious on your thoughts on No 14? I heard a lot of folks like that one!
that is beautiful!! If you decide to let 1 go, i’m right here
so interesting I read the opposite about 14 on tobacco reviews that the orientals we’re front and center. So interesting! 6 and 12 had the lower of the ratings but I don’t fully trust those ratings ha! I’m certainly not a lat person at all. I love them as complimentary pieces for sure!14 is the lat heaviest one and as such I think the orientals and virginia are overshadowed. All the virginia/oriental blends I've had from McClelland have been excellent. Balkan Blue and 3 Oaks Syrian were some of my favorite Englishes by them along with Frog Morton on the Bayou.
Their Grand Orientals series is pretty sought after and all of them that I've had have been excellent. Balkan Beauty is delicious as well.
Basically, it's hard to go wrong when you start with McClelland quality virginia and add the excellent orientals they were able to source.
Know your own palate.so interesting I read the opposite about 14 on tobacco reviews that the orientals we’re front and center. So interesting! 6 and 12 had the lower of the ratings but I don’t fully trust those ratings ha!
Number 14 was not as much of a favorite, though it has been a long time since I had any so my recollection is a little hazy. All of the Grand Oriental series were interesting, though the only one I stayed with was the Samsun.interesting! Curious on your thoughts on No 14? I heard a lot of folks like that one!
great tips! thank you!Know your own palate.
Find a reviewer whose tastes accord with your own and follow their reviews.
There is a very famous wine writer/reviewer who is now retired.
I steer clear of any of his 98-100 point wines as they are the diametrically opposite of the wines I like.
not at all, I rarely get a chance to smoke, and don’t post about it. Judd for smoking i’m lookingNone is worth current prices.
Are you looking for a tobacco to smoke, or an “everybody look at me!!” tobacco?
I’ll need to look at the grand oriental line for sure! thank You! Samsun sounds interestingNumber 14 was not as much of a favorite, though it has been a long time since I had any so my recollection is a little hazy. As someone else said, you can't go wrong with any of McClelland's blends.
I heard the opposite for FM. That they have a whisper of lat?! Do we know the proportions by any chance?I mean obviously there's the Frog Morton series. FM is more of a Lat Bomb but the other variants are all more balanced English/Balkan blends. Frog on the Bayou/Across the Pond being my two favorites.
Bombay Court has already been cosigned a couple of times I see but I'll add another +1 here.
The Oriental series are also all worth a try, subtle differences in leaves and presentation makes them all taste quite different. It'll be hard to make any real recommendations without knowing your taste.
Personally aside from all the ones I've already mentioned, bulk #2020 Mature Cake is a fantastic oriental/balkan too.
