This sample just arrived in today's mail. I CANNOT WAIT to fire up a bowl after dinner.
I will report my tasting in a bit. This should be good :)

Blackwoods Flake is delicious and MUCH easier to smoke.
However, it's not the same flavor profile as Dark Star.
Blackwoods is Red and Stoved Va's with a darker, spicier, more toasty flavor overall.
Dark Star starts as Bright and Carolina Va's and is then stoved and aged.
In general, I would say DS is more sweet/tangy/bright while BW is warm/toasty/spicy.
... YMMV :)
