Just bought some more Walnut due to the STG takeover and it’s nothing like it was. It’s very dry, there’s little casing on it, it doesn’t have as much walnut taste to it, and it’s lighter in color. The earthy burly flavor is gone. I’m getting really tired of typing the word STG. Here’s a picture:IMG_1277.jpeg

Bummer, man. This is one I was hoping to try before the Sutliff closure. Sorry to see things already aren't what they used to be.

Match Walnut shouldn't taste like walnuts. It was named for the street the shop was on. Did you mean to order this and got this instead?
I read up on it. You may be right, but if you’ve ordered it in the past year for MATCH Walnut you’ll get a walnut tasting blend with many different components in it including Latakia and Perique…so maybe this is what they’ve been doing with it? This is what I’ve thought the classic was supposed to be. I thought it was good anyway. Either way, you can’t get either blend anymore at present. It’s gone. I guess I’ll never know what the classics supposed to taste like.

None of my Chestnut/Match Walnut was ever that dark. My one sample of Match EMP in a jar is as about as dark as that bottom bag though and heavily topped, way more than Chestnut. Although my reference only goes back to 2021.
