For aging, Mason jars seem right. Maybe Mylar, I haven't tried that. For storing while you smoke, depending on how long it takes you to smoke, a tin, a jelly jar, plastic refrigerator dishes, or even plastic baggies, might do the job.

I use jars, both for my pipe tobacco and for my cigars. To be honest, over half of the year my humidity sits at about 70%, so I guess I can afford not to be too picky on the storage methods.

I like what I call " candy jars". They're glass jars witn a glass lid held on with a wire bail. The jar lid has a silicone seal. I get them at Walmart, and sometimes at the Dollar General.
