I just came across Maryland tobacco what is it like? I assume it's similar to Kentucky tobacco? Would love some information. Thanks!

I just got the Maryland from WLT recently and it’s similar to their “Kentucky burley” which is pretty a standard burley( not to be confused with their “kentucky”, which is dark fired)

the Maryland has a similar nutty quality to burley, but not as robust or earthy, and a bit less nic. Just smooth with a subtle sweetness and an alkaline ph. I’ve read somewhere that Maryland is a very alkaline tobacco, definitely can notice that.

I like to stove the Kentucky burley from WLT, I find it harsh if not. I’ve done the same to the Maryland and it’s nice. Can get a nice dark almost cavendish leaf from the Maryland from a long stove (6hr)with no additional sugars.

i find the “Kentucky” dark fired is great as is from the bag. I sometimes stove it too in a plug for a different effect.
