This stuff is just fantastic/but IMHO; she is a lil high-maintenance gal,

not a fold/stuff and your off...she needs attn, but she is worthy of it

because she does deliver ;-)
My prep; I slice a few tin-sized flakes from the long folded belts,

cube cut and dry for 12-24hrs (depending on climates) gravity

fill pipe/tamp down lightly...give her normal lighting attn (two-three

false lights/then final) sit back and sip slowly and be prepared to

be taken into pure smoke'in bliss

I can't agree more. Thanks to mrenglish, I have a very hefty stash of vintage Marlin Flake from 2000, 2001 and 2004. The 2000 is very good, haven't tried the 2001 yet, but the 2004 is blow your friggin' socks off good. So rich you can almost chew it as you smoke it. I was seduced by Marlin Flake at a very early time in my pipe smoking career and she has never left my side since.

I opened my tin of this a few days ago. Immediately I wanted to take a bite of that big old tobacco "belt". This is a really fun tobacco for me to prepare. It smells fantastic and I love the huge rolled flake.
At times you hear the word "lovely" used in a tobacco review and I always found it odd. HOWEVER this tobacco is lovely. Sweet, rich, and it burns really clean and effortlessly with a nice clear taste. I'm only a few bowls into this, but I can really see this turning into something I keep in the "final four" jars on my cabinet.
