I got this set a little over a year ago from a forum member here. The poker was smoked but the deluxe system wasn't. Only $100, quite a bargain for which I am forever thankful. I don't think they sold new for more than $250, so it's rather shocking to see the price of the one on eBay. Yes the smooth finish might be more desirable, and they are unsmoked, so only you can decide if they're worth it.

Yeah that actually is a pretty good deal! I saw that this morning when I got up, and kicked myself a little for not placing a bid on there. If I had though I would have set my max higher and might have paid more which I wouldn't have been happy with.

I seldom buy pipes as a collectors item. If I do, it's to sell it for more money! ? I've smoked them both a number of times and I like them, they smoke as good as anything else I have, although they are a little heavy.
