Man, I love my local B&M! I had a very successful and pleasant trip there this morning! Jackpot! I'm probably going back for more tomorrow!

Sorry, Nate! Before I could download the photo, the site said "Post is too old"! Had a nice chat with the manager, Mike and a fellow pipe smoker who was buying 2lbs of Cherry something or other. Then I emptied my wallet on this haul!

Howard, my buddy, surprised me with the fact that they were much more than honors and show. They were still a fighting unit with responsibilities for the defense of the District. More to group than meets the eye with regular combat training along with all the pomp. A fascinating unit all and all.

My local is making great strides away from being a mostly cigar place lately. Nice to see.
Finally, it's starting to maybe sink in that pipes are as good as or better than cigars.

Warren - Yes, we were an Infantry unit first and foremost. It was a great honor to serve in the 3rd!
I, too, am glad to see the resurgence of other B&M's. Columbus is lucky to have several!

Very nice to find these available. I called Mike and he had more product but said that he doesn't mail.

Nice haul, Tim . But major props for serving with the Old Guard.

Talk about a group of squared away young men and women. Of course, they're not show ponies but the professionalism and gravitas they bring to their more public duties is just damned impressive.
Cheers to you, bub.

graydawn - No, Mike is old school. He only sells hard to get items to walk-in customers. We take care of them, they take care of us.
fnord - Thank you. It was tough duty, very high standards, but worth every drop of sweat! It means a lot to me to be able to honor our fallen soldiers and heroes, and to represent our great nation to other countries and world leaders, not to mention being given the task of escorting the President of the greatest country in the world. Great memories!

The closest thing I have is a 'RYO' shop. The guy is nice enough. He has some basket pipes, hardwood pipes, cobs, and meers. All are way over priced, except the Missouri Meerschaums. The upside is he carries nasal snuff.

@deathmetal- They are really upping their game with a slowly increasing variety of pipe tobaccos and pipes. In the past, the pipe selection at that particular store had been very limited.
