My wife just purchased me a man robe (dressing gown) after years of me making jokes about it...

Holy shit. With the exception of finding pipe smoking and pizza, this has to be a one of my life’s highlights to date...sorry kids, your births now come in at 4th, 5th and 6th.

getting up early to change nappies - feel like a boss

taking out the trash - feel like a boss

pulling the finger at a driver who is speeding - you know it, feel like a boss.

writing a post of the forums - feel like a boss

apart from instantly kicking in TAD cravings for the holy of holies, erhm that’s right, mixture seventy plus nine, how can life get better?

who else mans the robe?

(pics to follow)

I have two. One flannel and fleece (winter), and one elaborate silk asian reversible beast I bought in Vietnam (summer). The latter made by kids who are living with the impacts of agent orange to raise money for their care facility.

I don’t always wear them, but when I do, I drink Dos Equis.......oops, I mean, I feel like a boss. Especially if it’s right after the wife and I have, uh, y’know.....boned.

I don't wear robes.

I either wear this:

Robes are fine. My wardrobe 95% of the time is stretchy athletic pants and Nike or Under Armour Stay Dri T shirts. Just as comfortable and I don't have to hand over my man card.
True that, you can keep your man card nice and safe in your bum bag next to your “f’n a-hole” card

(ps: hope you got the reference to the phrases that tick you off thread. I think you are all good hoosier.)

Bathrobes, yes. I seem to collect them. I have my wife's father's (1899 to 1967) summer robe; a flannel and also a wool Black Watch plaid; and a heavy solid black monster synthetic that weights about eight pounds and will double as a bear costume. She has an L.L. Bean replacement for the flannel robe on order since the current one, already patched, has another hole from rubbing on the wall up and down the stairs. I can go out and get the newspaper in all weathers, dress in front of visitors with my back turned, and otherwise get on with business. Sometimes I use them as a cover when I nap. Just work horse wear for all seasons. So welcome to the knighthood of the robe.

LOL I get it perfectly and appreciate your wit. Along with my obvious genteel nature, I have exceptionally thick skin. It's all good.

Then there was the mob boss who was notorious for walking around Greenwich Village in his bathrobe feigning madness as a cover for his running a big crime family. It worked pretty well for years.

Damn, BROB, you're right! Proof positive. I think it's the wool Black Watch plaid.
