I've got one with an entire mortise made of lapis lazuli, no beneficial effects noted.
That's funny, my
In all seriousness, that's really cool.

That's a beauty. Is the lapis lazuli visible when the stem is in the pipe?
YepIs the lapis lazuli visible when the stem is in the pipe?
As real as the ivory and hippo tooth he used on his other pipes. And is the lapis lazuli the real thing? I.e., rock as opposed to plastic?
Surely the blue of the lapis lazuli should make you relaxed and mellow just by looking at it ?I've got one with an entire mortise made of lapis lazuli, no beneficial effects noted.

Nope. Too much blue causes me anxiety. I tend to surround myself with greens and browns.Surely the blue of the lapis lazuli should make you relaxed and mellow just by looking at it ?
Ha ha ! My wife won’t let me shop for clothes or furnishings alone because I usually come back with something brown or green ?Nope. Too much blue causes me anxiety. I tend to surround myself with greens and browns.
Man, it must have been a pain to work with. Lapis is about as hard as glass.Yep

not from the pipe. but the people that need to know if a pipe can pass a cleaner probably had some leakage from this news that finally they can smoke a bent pipe.No leakage?
the fact you're still here means you might be wrong about that. It's starting to make sense. That pipe is why you're going to be 135 someday.I've got one with an entire mortise made of lapis lazuli, no beneficial effects noted.

I never knew how bad the music was on those videos, until now. Here's a video of that Viktor Yashtylov pipe noted above.
If someone is smoking hot enough for that much heat to reach those magnets, maybe its time to give up pipe smoking.I'm all for innovation, but:
If a magnet is exposed to high temperatures, the delicate balance between temperature and magnetic domains is destabilized. At around 176 °F, a magnet will lose its magnetism and it will become demagnetized permanently if exposed to this temperature for a period
Now I'm not sure if these will be exposed that that heat, but maybe?
We have a few magnets at work that are called true earth magnets. they are about the size of a watch battery but will attract thru you hand and not moveDon't know yet, he is in the process of making mine. Although according to him, and a few people who have bought them so far, there are no issues. The magnets are quite strong, they will grab the stem from a half inch away and suck it on like WHAP!
