I like the look and style of their pipes. The wooden stem thing is very interesting as well.

No collection can be complete without a calabash and a churchwarden.
Bah, so now you're saying I need a calabash?!?!? When will this madness end?!?

Well i read on their site it takes so long because they have become popular and can't keep up with the demand.
This is not a good excuse for lousy customer service.

still want one, the wooden stem I'd like to try and I've not held a Churchwarden before. It might be nice to give my arm a more relaxed lower position to hold a pipe with.

I've got the "Ranger" that I've had since 2005 or so. It looks a bit different than the pictures of the same pipe, I think they changed the coloring scheme (mine is not nearly as black and I like it a lot better). The briar looks good, really high quality and it smokes great. My only concern is that the wooden stem will *eventually* begin to wear at the mouth.
I cant comment on the shipping times, I bought mine from a now out-of-business online vendor (thepiperoom.com) who shipped instantly. They made some great aromatic blends as well...I miss them.

I'm hearing complaints about how hot the bowls get on the Macqueen pipes. I haven't seen any specify whether they were experiencing this with cherry or briar or both.... Id like to get a churchwarden ( not particlarly Macqueen ) since I recall hearing they are great for reading (keeping the smoke away from the face... Was that on this forum?).

Please let us know. I'd love to pick one up but am not sold on them if the quality isn't that great.
