I guess it's an aromatic in that it has... some extra flavor added. But I couldn't tell you what it is, and it's certainly not the Danish/German style of "Take that black cavendish and dump cherry extract on it". It's subtle. A blend even.
And hey, when you get right down to it, very few pipe tobaccos aren't topped or cased in some or other fashion. Blenders have long used little secret flavor boosts, 2% anise solution as one example, to give a subtle but sort of undetectable "bonus" to blends.
Whatever, define it how you like, MB Mixture is a lovely smoke for those of us who tame it.
