This morning, upon cracking the new tin and sniffing, I got this deja vu of something familiar. The evening before, I had opened a bottle of German white wine for wifey. The aroma was a match! Like a kid with a new toy, I ran over to the spouse and asked "What does this tobacco smell like?" The answer: "The wine from last night".

This was a Rhinehessen Spatlese, but it carries over to any Rheingau (brown bottles) that includes popular Leibfraumilch. I'm seeking confirmation from this community on this pleasant revelation.

dervis, Thanks but the wine is gone and the navy-flake is leaving as ash........

Whatever is mixed into the casing, it is a ringer for the wine. I used to get a honey smell from other MacB blends, but this tin has definite alcohol-like characteristics.

Still have few flakes in the tin to smoke over the coming days which I like and the room note is accepted by the wife
