Haven’t had Mixture flake, just the regular cut. And I’m no super taster. But to me, they are quite different. Navy flake is burley forward, while mixture is more Virginia forward and much sweeter because of the cavendish and topping.

They’re quite different. Mixture flake is, what I would consider, a very mild aromatic. It has a good “tobacco” base though. It’s in the same ballpark as Stokkebye Luxury Twist Flake.
It’s been a long time since I’ve smoked either one, but they’re both quality flakes.

Mixture is extremely complex with a lot of different tobaccos. It's sweet because of the cavendish and virginias, but also sour from the kentucky and possibly some oriental. Mild and rather low on nicotine.
Navy Flake is very burley forward. There is a topping of rum and honey or molasses, and then there is the nutty burley with some musty sourness. Nicotine is medium or even a bit more than that.
I think they are very different blends, but both very Mac Baren.
