Excellent review, and wonderful videos! Having just recently tried ODF, and being from Tennessee, where a goodly amount of Burley is grown, I really enjoyed learning about the process required to make such a great blend! Years ago, my family were tobacco farmers, Burley was their livelihood (along with bootlegging, lol). Money was never something they had much of. Having a roof over their heads, food on the table, and a loving family to share it all with was what they valued. We would all do good to take a lesson from them. Hearing stories from my great grandmother about growing up during the Great Depression and the hardships they endured, and how they depended on tobacco so much, it really hit home watching those videos.
It becomes more apparent day by day, that farmers are a dying breed. I grew up working farms and large gardens, and I have the utmost respect for the ones who carry on the way of life that their ancestors lived.
Farmers, of all kinds, are the ones who really built this country. So the next time you meet one, be sure to shake their hand and tell them you appreciate what they're doing!
Here's to the humble farmer!
