Just fired up my first bowl. New favorite blend!!! Nutty, rich, earthy, mildly sweet. Love it!

chasingembers, have you tried Old Dark Fired to see how it compares? smokingpipes.com had ODF full strength and Bold Kentucky medium-full. I'm sure all this will get sorted out soon. I am impressed with ODF, as much for its balance as for its strength, though I do have a weakness for some full-strength blends. l find several of them are much gentler on bite and harshness than much milder tobaccos.

ODF has been a regular for a couple of years now, and more often than not, an all day smoke. Fifteen pounds of my cellar are ODF. Love it as well, just think it may be knocked down a bar on the favorites list. Don't think BK is nearly as strong as its label implies that it is only for experienced smokers, but it is awfully darned good.

Remember, this is Mac Baren, they are not exactly know for full bodied tobaccos. I don't find it as full as Irish Flake but similar in taste, only more refined. Very smooth tasting with some earthiness. Also got some nuttiness that chasingembers mentioned. The second half of my bowl was definitely stronger than the first half. I let it go out half way so take of the hounds and when I came back to it, it was much fuller. I will definitely be getting more in the 100g tin and hopefully the one pound bulk.
