I'm always amazed at the incredible range and variety of flavors in pipe tobaccos, especially in the hands of a skilled blender. And Lucky 7 is definitely the work of a skilled blender. The flavor is delicious and complex, and it made me smile the whole time I was smoking my first bowl.
The aroma from the bag is predominantly vanilla with woody overtones - nice, but not intoxicatingly so.
But the taste - fantastic! The vanilla and woody notes come through as the predominant flavors, but with a little surprise twist. As I'm exhaling each puff, the smoke takes on a slightly sweet and slightly pungent herbal quality along with woody notes for the perfect finish to each puff.
