As I sit and contemplate the destruction of what was a peaceful, orderly home, I am grateful.
Grateful that I have 2 healthy, beautiful grand-daughters and for my daughter that gave them to us
Grateful that I have a wife that still has the health and willingness to tackle said grand-daughters
Grateful that my dog understands that her “puppy-girls” are a work in progress and not to be bitten
Grateful that all the art projects are finished and wrapped up for their mother and father
Grateful that all hotdogs and sugary cereals are eaten and won’t appear in my lunch
Grateful that I don’t have to remember the Disney channel numbers
Grateful that I’m no longer tripping over tennis shoes, dirty panties and socks
Grateful that my wonderful grand-daughters have gone home to their parents
Most of all, I’m grateful for tomorrow when we can clean the bathroom, vacuum & mop floors, have steak for dinner instead of kid’s food, and plan for June when my beautiful grand-daughters come and stay another week with us.
My wife is now sitting in a chair with a glazed look in her eyes, asking for a “double”. I have a tumbler with Jamesons in it, and just pulled out my Peterson Kildare 999 and the sample of Lord Methley that Rich sent me from 4noggins.
My God, the tobacco smells so good that it’s given me a hard-on. When I told my wife, she mumbled, “That’s nice dear” and asked for a refill, “Make it a double, please.” I would strongly recommend Lord Methleys.
