I was rummaging through my old tins and I came across this little jewel. I purchased this from Steve at Pipestuds years and years ago. Now, I'm not normally a pure Virginia smoker, but from what I understand it's the tobacco that will age the best, is that correct? So according to the date on the back (Steve gave me those dates back when I purchased it) This baby is going on 20 years of age. For any of you straight Virginia purest out there that might know, have you ever smoked this? And for everyone else... how long do you think I should let this age, another 5-10 years?

That's a delightful illustration!

Also virginias from 2000-2005 should be just about perfection by now, be very curious to see the inside if/when you do pop it!

My favorite Tin art. Love that can. Seems like such a friendly fellow.

I have a can from 2001 sitting in a drawer for someday.

It's a shame nobody does tin art like that anymore, but I suppose it's just as well, it would be all covered up with health propaganda crap anyway.

Assuming that it hasn't dried out in the tin, it's pretty much done what it's going to do at this point. Extra aging isn't likely to change it much more, if at all. Aging doesn't "improve" blends, it changes them to a greater of lesser degree. Whether that change is an improvement is up to the individual smoker to decide.

Smoke it if you want to, don't if you don't. Won't make a difference unless the tin's seal craps out and you've got a pile of mummy dust.

Ya, I agree. I have a 77' Dunhill Bruyere on it's way to me. Should be here in a few days. I'll pop that tin and try it out in that. I'll take some pics unless it's a pile of mummy dust.

Well, the reviews on Tobacco reviews weren't that great for this. So I think I'm just going to let it sit.
I do love the tin art tho!
I do not believe in everything written on Tobacco Reviews but use it as a guide. I'd rather decide for myself if a blend is suitable for me.

If it was mine I would have to open it and find out for myself.
