Quite a difference six months of pipe smoking makes when it comes to appreciating a tobacco.
Prince Albert was the first pipe tobacco I smoked back in the spring. It was awful. I found it harsh. Couldn't understand why people would like it.
But a number of people in this thread recommended it.
So this morning I stopped at "Cheap Tobacco" and picked up a pouch.
Either PA has gotten better in six months, or my technique has.
PA really is a fine tobacco. Lights easily. Doesn't bite even if pushed. Tastes like whole wheat crackers - which is good - as I like whole wheat crackers. Seems to have around a 3 start rating on Tobacco Reviews, and that seems right about where I'd rate it.
It won't replace Aged Burley Flake. But it's quite good for what it is. A keeper.
