The strongest Dunhill mixture made was A11010. It is now being replicated true to form and taste by Park Lane Tobacconists. Their designation I believe is A1-1010. If you like latakia this is it!!!

I will say that Larry's Blend is absolutely a quality blend. As for 1792 Flake, I am a nic lightweight. So, while I love it, it does not love me!!! I'm currently in the market for a smaller bowled pipe to dedicate to this evil/glorious tobacco.

I went over to tobaccoreviews and read a couple of pages on the 1792 and there were several who said it was the nastiest sh*t they had ever put in their pipe ( could have been aromatic smokers ) 8O

I bet they were aromatic smokers. Do you ever notice on that site that all the English smokers who try an aromatic say its the nastiest thing they ever had in their pipes? I must be a weird smoker in that I love Englishes and aros equally. :puffy:

My two best suggestions to answer this question have already been mentioned: C&D Pirate Kake and Bow-Legged Bear. I no longer smoke either one very much as I have gotten away from the heavy Latakia blends that used to be a staple for me. I would always end the night with a bowl of Pirate Kake in my Kirsten pipe that I reserved for smoking this blend. Bow-Legged Bear doesn't have quite as much Latakia but it does seem to have more of a nicotine kick. These two also have a very strong room note.

Looks like this thread is developing into a 2 topic discussion. For a lat bomb I also agree with C&D's Pirate Kake.

As for 1792, it is truly a love it or hate it blend. Me; I love it and smoked it all day for years. Since it has been scarce on our shores I did get a tin from Iwan Ries and have been using it as the occassional treat. Not for newbies or folks with weak constitutions but great nonetheless.
