Just like the title say. Now, I do smoke the Brebbia Romanza Mixture 10, which is a Virginia. I love it, sweet and has notes of citrus. It's got a tingle of vitamin-N has the bowl progresses. I was wondering what other Virginias you all smoke and recommend.

I am very sad that I waited so many years to try Rattray's Hal of the wind. It is a great blend full of sweet Virginia taste, with a little nicotine in it as well. Any of the Mclelland's blends are good, I favor Dark Star and Virginia #27.

McClelland Christmas Cheer, very good. Sterling Old Dominion is another one I like, and keep on hand. Fribourg and Treyer Golden Mixture is one I didnt like at first, but I started smoking it in a fresh dedicated pipe, and it has kinda grown on me. I like my Virginias with a touch of perique, but these three I usually take straight.

I'd add another vote for Red Ribbon, available only from McCranie's.

Hartwell Signature hasn't been mentioned, and I'll add that in.

Enjoy your explorations. :puffy:

Once Hal O The Wynd has its hooks in you and you are looking for still more Virginia experiences, I highly recommend:
Rattrays Old Gowrie

Rattrays Marlin Flake

Samuel Gawith Full Virginia Flake

Samuel Gawith Best Brown Flake

McClelland Dark Star

Dunhill Flake

Fribourg And Treyer Cut Virginia Plug

Dan Tobacco Hamborger Veermaster
That should keep you exploring for a while.
Happy puffing.

Well, not just to be different here, but I have never gotten along well with most Virginia blends. Maybe I don't have a sophisticated palate. I don't know, but most Virginia blends, and I have tried a bunch of them, just taste something like straw to me.

I really would like to experience what you all are tasting. I will keep trying though.

@maxpeters: Keep at it. I could never understand the appeal of straight Virginia tobacco. Always seemed boring, dull, plain and tasteless to me. Then one day I had a pipe smoking life changing event with a bowl of Rattrays Marlin Flake that led me to seek out more Marlin Flake and then other straight Virginias. I have been a straight Virginia smoker ever since. I also found that smoking straight Virginias taught me a lot about pipe smoking. Virginias are a bit more finiky as far as how you pack and smoke them. All the principals of good Virginia smoking apply to all tobaccos and have enriched my smoking experience in general.

Got an e-mail from 4noggins today, my order Rattray's HAL O' THE WYND 100g and Orlik GOLDEN SLICED 50g shipped out today. Turns out that they are coming all the way from Vermont. I'm not real sure how long it takes the USPS to get down here to SC, guess I'm gonna find out. And yeah, I'm a bit excited. It's my first online tobacco order.
