Cool pipe! I didn't know what "Prattware" was so I looked it up:

This kind of stem-bending is briefly visible in one of those "making clay pipes" videos on YT, but I don't remember which one.

I certainly have. As a kid Cinnamon Toast Crunch offered in-box connectable pieces of Krazy Straws in rainbow colors. You could connect them so long that even the most seasoned pipe smokers didn't have enough draw strength to get liquid through the coils start to finish, They were a blast.
