I agree..
for three nuns (macbaren in Denmark) I am assuming availability/cost of perique was the main problem.

There's a different backstory. When Mac Baren bought the rights to Three Nuns they bought the Kentucky recipe, not the Perique recipe. Ooops. Later, Doblone D'Oro appeared.

A few years ago they were largely held in contempt as having a bloated line up of inferior blends.

Kinda like McClellands was a couple years ago before they went away, or for that matter SG and GH before it became a must have... ?

Way too many goofy tobacco blend names! I mean, how do you tell what a blend is with an name like 'Big Bear Scratches His Fuzzy Ass On The Old Oak Tree'? Cartooney art work and a sappy name is not really appealing.

For years I was one of those people who felt like I was slumming it when smoking C&D. My opinion has changed rather drastically in the past several months.

I’ve always enjoyed C&D blends... but I tend not to follow the interwebs crowd on what’s the latest hip blends.

Kind of like some of the cigar boards, where if you’re not smoking some $40 Tatuaje you don’t rate... ?
