Hi all,

I'm John and have been a long time Lurker on here. Have read a lot since I joined and gotten a lot of good information from the group.

The following is long winded so I just want to start off with, glad to be here and hope to learn more as I go.

If you're willing to read on about me.....

I'm in the Army and started smoking cigars and pipes while on a deployment from 12-13. Stuck more with cigars for the most part, daily before my kid was born 3 years ago, then weekly after. I would pick up a pipe maybe every 6 months or so but could never get the mechanics down and it never stuck with me like cigars. This all changed in the last 3 weeks where I've suddenly got "it" (to some degree) and now pipe smoking is much more enjoyable and I'm now smoking several bowls throughout the day. Earlier, I finished a half bowl of Dunbar leftover from yesterday, quarter bowl of some Rolandos blend and now onto some old gowries as I type this out. I started off liking English blends but over the last three weeks have been getting into VAs VAPERs and surprisingly, aros. I hated aros before but now, I'm learning to appreciate them. My favorite blends all time are plum pudding and ms river and all of their offshoots (special reserve and barrel aged) but am currently digging the eso's, black frigate, smokers haven, GLPs and some aged hearth and home stuff i have on hand. I smoke primarily in cobs and bones but have a couple radiaters and other briars on hand. Would love to get a meersham for the inventory to see how they smoke. Im not a sophisticated taster but the reason I smoke is for the taste and relaxation.

If you got this far, thanks for reading and thanks for having me.

Welcome to the fold, John. Sounds like you are smoking some good stuff. I love PP but I’ve come to love the Bourbon Barrel Aged even more. I think it’s up there with SH Cognac & Esoterica’s Pembroke, it’s just a grand smoke, especially this time of year.
