Aluminum tape can be your answer.
All unopened tins I tape with it and they are fresh even many years later when opened.
For opened tins I do not want to put in mason jar aluminum tape keep them reasonably fresh for up a couple of years, they dry out a little bit over time which is not necessary bad as they become close to perfect drying conditions particularly for wet blends. But if you want to age them put in mason jar as already said.
However currently most of my blends are bulk (mainly G&H) and I keep the bulk in mylar bag storing the one I need for 1 year or so in Mason jars.
Seems lika a good idea.
I like my tins clean; does the tape come of easily ?

I have never had good luck with open tins of any kind for much longer than a couple months. I always dump it in a ball jar, most of which have served me well for over fifteen years if properly sealed (make sure there are no stray tobacco leaves on the rubber seal).

There are different aluminum tapes. The ticker ones of 3M come out easily (and they do a better seal). Some thinner nop brand names they tend to break down when applying as well as more difficult to come out. But tick one of 3 M works very well

Exactly what I was gonna say, especially with the “if ever” coda.

Never mind, I forgot they were English blends….
I am going to smoke this tin of dried up Standard Mixture and that will be the last of the opened English blends I have. I smoked a lot of English when I started out because it was so forgiving, but I grew weary of the heavy Latakia. I might crack a tin and revisit a few years down the road to see if my tastes have changed. The tins are already 3+ years old so maybe the aging will help. I doubt it 😆
