For restoration! Don't get too excited. Tho, English thinks G. W. is a great Englishman. Hogwash! Wait.. He was an English who betrayed England.

So, he was a great Englishman who betrayed England? How does that work?

I say he was a proud and proper 'Merican!!!

A few English historians have told me that England considered the American Revolution less a war against the colonies and more of a proxy war against the French. Plus one thing people forget about the revolutionary war is that before it happened there was a delegation of Americans who went into negotiations with England and the crown and thought the war would be avoided. Also the relations between the two countries stayed pretty freaking good considering what just happened (after the war I mean). Which in a large part came down to Washington since he was in a position to choose to be very belligerent to the English and some factions in America certainly wanted nothing to do with England.
You know cause history has this weird habit of being as complicated as anything happening now.

Hmmmm. Not so fast. I guess the war of 1812 was a hiccup? It wasn’t until WW1 that we made a decision to have a special relationship. Many Americans would have happily gone with Germany.
