LLC or LC?

Hello guys!

So, I have a "Swan Neck " of 1950 (Pat.N°: 417574/34 - England0). In the shank is written what appears to be "LLC ". I've never seen "LLC", just "LC". Was it a mistake?

What does the acronym "LC" mean?

Someone emailed me about an LLC a few years ago, mentioned in the thread George linked. Rich Esserman gave me some info about the pipe, but I didn't save his emails and no longer have the pictures. That owner was supposed to sendme more photos/info, but never did. That is gorgeous! Can you post some additional pictures, particularly from the nomenclature?

My pipe has something like two "LL" (very close), almost one on top of the other.

To me, that definitely looks double-stamped. Hard to say for sure, though. Stunning pipe, nonetheless.

Yup, double stamped.
Hand stamping (which is how Dunhill did it) is MUCH more difficult to do well/accurately than people would guess. Even pros who did it all day made occasional errors

Nothing to do with pipes, but the acronym LLC also stands for limited liability company, which refers to how a company is incorporated, so that its liability is limited if they are sued, I believe. Just to be clear, the one LLC has nothing to do with the other.
