I just picked this up a couple of weeks ago along with Royal and Midnight. All are fine tobaccos, but this review I'd like to focus on Tashkent. This tobacco is perfection to me. The spicy incense like turkish tobacco and the smoky and earthy latakia are the most forward flavors to me. The sweetness and body must be coming from the Izmir but it perfectly balances out the latakia and Turkish. There is some sour fruit notes in the early part of the pipe. I found a nutty, creaminess almost hazelnut flavor towards the middle end of the bowl, however the spice and smoke is still noticable the whole bowl through. This is an all day smoke, medium nicotine. Fantastic blend.

It makes sense that you find most of the flavor from "the spicy incense like turkish tobacco and the smoky and earthy latakia," as those are the only two ingredients!

All gentle joshing aside, Tashkent is one fantastic tobacco.
Lol, i get it. This is the first non Virginia or burley based tobacco I've smoked. its amazing how much body this blend has despite being so few ingredients, most of which I've only ever considered condiments.

Been meaning to try this one along with WCC Persian Slipper for some time now, I am definitely an Oriental/Turkish kinda guy. Think your review may have just put me over the edge. Incense, and nutty cream... sign me up!! puffy
I love Balkan and Oriental blends and when I told the shop owner at Perettis what I liked he suggested Tashkent and Royal. He steered me right, great tobaccos, I highly recommend.

In May I ordered an ounce of Tashkent to try, and it quickly became one of my favorites: I ordered a pound this morning. The day before I first tried Tashkent, I had tried C&D From Beyond and enjoyed it a lot; Tashkent had some similar elements which I also enjoyed. Must be the orientals. I also have some Royal and some Oriental No. 40 on the way, but so far nothing beats Tashkent. Great stuff!
