Walt Hettinger, M.D. He is a retired emergency/urgent care physician practicing in Baltimore ( think about that life) and makes terrific pieces. I bought my first from him at the Columbus show in 2018, and now have six of his pipes. I have owned about 200 pipes over 50 years, most of them since traded, and to this day I’m of the opinion his are among the best.

What strikes you about that pipe? It looks like my wooden spoon but a little deeper so I’m personally not seeing its merits.

I may have to order one of these to support local PA business and send it to you for Hanukkah next year. I can hear the festive songs already: “Oh, ladle, ladle, ladle, I made you out of wood . . .”
I am local. I could sell you gravel curated by hand. Prettiest pieces for sure.
