Hello all! I come with another question, I have this beautiful estate BBB Silver Mount from 1992. And Ive noticed it has these little holes and cracks, it seems someone forgot to put fills in the briar or something like that. Should I worry? Im thinking that because they are far from the bowl they probably wont get worse, but the big one (first picture) is kind of worrying cause it looks more like a crack than a hole. Any ideas for a fix? (if its even necessary of course).IMG_8382.jpegIMG_8383.jpeg

It's wood, which is sort of fractal in terms of patterning, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

However, being on the shank means it represents a structural Achilles heel. In other words you should try not to tap the pipe clean or otherwise create any stress that could cause those microscopic holes to become stress points for a clean break.
