Why do some estate pipe websites keep sold pipes listed with a sold text/logo next to the pipe for weeks or even months after it has sold instead of just removing the pipe from the page?

Selling ploy...they want you to see what you missed out on in hopes that you will buy sooner.

I can see where it would encourage people to go to your store to see if you have something as nice/similar. I also think it's kinda cheesy...

I appreciate sites that keep sold listings up. Its great for reference, if you're trying to find a value for something or just reading some notes about a particular pipe.
