I've been playing video games since I was seven, and I haven’t stopped. Maybe it's because I found comfort in them when the parents and sister were fighting. But either way, video games have devolved me into the fine fellow I am today.
I played League in a game called
Day of Defeat: Source. For those who are not familiar, league play means that each team has rosters and games that you have to be on to play. I spent many a late nights waiting for a European team to get up so that we can play.
But recently, I've taken to playing a game called
Hearts of Iron III. The game starts in the year 1936, and you can guide any nation at the time through World War II. That said, history tends to go off kilter and makes playing this game all the more enjoyable. I’ve had games where America invaded South America for supporting the Axis. I’ve had games where Japan supports the American War effort against the Soviet Union, and I’ve had games where Germany spends the whole time being extra friendly to everyone. The game makes you think, because you have to balance a focus on production, research, diplomacy, politics and espionage.
Of course, my world isn't utterly focused on video games. I love reading. Maybe it's because I'm trying to catch up with everyone, due to the fact that I could not read till I was 8. I'll read most anything, though I'd rather read up on history, philosophy, military tactics, Russian fiction, and anything that catches my fancy. And yes, I did say Russian fiction. Leo Tolstoy, writer of 'War and Peace', is an all time favorite. That said, I prefer 'Воскресение' or 'Resurrection.'
I also enjoy just being a nerd and messing with computers.
