About my OP, it's OK to hold the stem with only my lips when I sip? Like a cigarette. (by OK I mean if it's not the culprit of this blister)
I wouldn't do that with any regularity, and certainly not with an unknown item on your lip. And, a dental appointment is a fine idea. It could be something that needs tending anyway; the smoke has only irritated it.

I end up pulling the smoke in all over. Sometimes it's just in my lips, others it is just behind the teeth, and still yet, sometimes it's right in front of my molars. Only thing I have ever burned in my mouth is my tongue, and possibly the roof of my mouth (Damn P-Lip). It's very easy to allow the smoke to get too hot in a pipe with minimum cake, or at least that's my experience. My pre-carbonized cobs tend to smoke just like a fresh briar that has no cake, hot and wet; whereas cobs without the coating tend to be better smokers from the beginning. Sorry if I'm giving you redundant information, just trying to troubleshoot with you.

If you're thin skinned like me then there may be no way around it.
I've been trying to figure out how to stop from getting sores in my mouth for almost three years now
When I got my teeth cleaned a little while ago the dentist said that my gums bleed very easily. So far it seems "Dry Mouth" (sleeping with your mouth open) is the most probable cause.

Living in a northern climate (extremely dry air) probably doesn't help.
Thus far I've just resigned to the fact that I will always be extremely sensitive to smoke, unless I figure out some sort of extensive filtering system I'm going to be limited to smoking at a pace of about one bowl per week.

Which is mostly fine given that this is just a hobby, it just makes it hard to sample all the tobacco you want.

This exact same thing happened to me when I tried Lane's HGL, except on inside of both lips. Worried me a bit, until I deduced it was just this one blend (or something in it). I loved the taste of this blend, but I never bought it again once I finished the bag.
