After getting calluses on my lips, I'm wondering... when you put the pipe in your mouth to take a sip, the lip (of the pipe) should be inside or outside the teeth?
By the way, I don't clench.

Whichever is the most comfortable. Don't over think it, just relax and enjoy.

Just curious ... maybe inapplicable ...
Do you have a latex allergy?
Are the stems of your pipes made of Vulcanite?

This is a new one. Maybe you are puffing/sipping too hard? Really the best teacher for slowing down is getting burned. After cooking my sinuses in the first week, it forced me to slow down, read everything I could about breathsmoking, and just relax and let the smoking become a passive endeavor, without actually ever thinking about it. But, it takes practice, like driving. At first you have to constantly think about clutch, shift, up on clutch/while down on gas... then next thing you know, you're driving home without having to think about anything that you're doing.

Callus is not the right word for it. Maybe a very thin, very superficial blister. I'm sure there's a right word for it, but it's escaping me.
The outer, thinner skin of the lip is "charred" in a small spot. Whiteish, rough to the touch, but oh so subtle. I tried to take a picture, but it won't show.
It doesn't hurt, but when I'm skmoking it tingles a bit.
I tried breath smoking, but it's not my thing. I like to take long, slow sips, play with the smoke in my mouth, and very slowly let it go. I do sip more frequently that I should, I reckon.
I'm smoking a lot of filtered cobs without the filter, and it tends to get wet sometimes. That might be also the cause.

I usually let the tin open overnight.

I like it to the point that it doesn't get "sticky" when I grab a pinch, but it retains a "springy" quality.
About my OP, it's OK to hold the stem with only my lips when I sip? Like a cigarette. (by OK I mean if it's not the culprit of this blister)

Try putting some in the microwave for 8 seconds to see if that helps eliviate your lip. It doesn't dry it out completely, but warms the tobacco some and reduces some moisture. I find that I get more flavor from warmed tobacco like that, sort of like warming a cigar to get the oils and flavors woken up a bit. Plus, it should reduce your steam/heat issue.

I did that once, with Squadron Leader (that thing is tobacco soup). And yes, it was good.

I will definitely try it.

Also, maybe you are packing too tight. Once packed the pipe should draw like pulling soda through a straw, if it's like air through a straw, it's too lightly packed, but more importantly, if it's like sipping on a milkshake, it's packed too tightly and you will need to puff harder thus making the smoke hotter.

I agree with Doc, if it doesn't go away after a few days get it looked at. Slowing down and packing tighter might help. Definitely try dryer tobacco and experiment with what is most comfortable smoking-wise.
