So I like the Savinelli Leonardo pipes, I REALLY like them. I have 5 out of the 6 in a mixture of smooth and rusticated finishes. The idea of a numbered, limited edition (supposedly they are made for one year and numbered) line appeals to me, except for the 2012 pipe, the wing, they are numbered. Usually 100 smooth, 150 rusticated. I noticed on SPC's update today they added the #2/100 rusticated version of "the light". This is odd since the rusticated model of that pipe currently in my pipe rack is #2/151...I have emailed SPC about it to see if they have any answers ( seeing as how they are now Savinelli USA if I understand correctly). I'm curious if the line was so successful that they made another production or what. I guess that would explain why the 2012 pipe isn't numbered. I don't really care, more curious than anything. Although it does seem a little shady to make the claims that are on the certificate of authenticity then make multiple productions. Your thoughts?

Savinelli: Leonardo da Vinci "The Light" Rusticated (72/100) (6mm)

This is what I'm sitting on. Ordered on May 1st of this year. Now I'm really confused as it looks like another group of rusticated as well.

Yeah it's pretty weird. If the pipes weren't numbered I would still buy them at the same price point, they're great smokers. But this doesn't seem right.

Here's the reply I got from SPC:
Hello Gary,
No they only made on run of this that we are aware of. We did not receive in the entire lot which is probably why you have another number from the series if you purchased it elsewhere.
Not much of an answer, going to call Laudisi next.

Maybe the meant that 12/100? It's a very nice pipe but it would suck if they were playing with the production numbers. If its limited it should be the limited number stated. I they produce another run a second series symbol should be denoted on the pipe.
