Mac Baren 7 Seas Black and 7 Seas Red is hitting the market soon. Black is like BCA, but only better, and Red is a slightly tart Wild Cherry. They are both awesome. Details to come after I settle in next week.

Black is coming in 7 - 10 days and Red in about 2 months (I think), if I remember correctly on Red.
I have samples of these in my hand right now 
I love my tobacco shop, they are happy to have me as a pipe smoker so they drop samples on me all the time. I dont have much experience yet with pipe tobacco but I can say this, the black was very easy to smoke and stayed lit. I dont have a developed pallet so I can just tell you that my wife liked the room note and I liked the flavor but dont know how to describe it.
The Red was almost sweet to me and I can taste tobacco! This one is really good, it burned real cool and slow and didnt bite. Some of the stuff Ive been trying changes a lot from top to bottom of the bowl. Maybe it's the way I smoke but the Red stayed mellow and tasty way down into the bowl. I say sweet but there is to me bit of a spice to it as well. Almost like the "proper english" I tried was a spicey but more subtle.

What is the process a blender goes through before releasing a blend? For a blender like Mac B, does someone make the blend and send it to taste testers in house or samples to other testers?
In Greg Pease's case, I assume he has a specific taste profile he is shooting for, but his name is on the can.

That's a really great question mlaug. I'm sure it varies from house to house and even from blend to blend depending on circumstance... but I'd like to hear some stories.
I suspect that it may be a bit like making wine in that a lot of it depends on how the crop of a particular style of grape was that harvest. There is likely a similar profile for something grown in the same dirt from the same vine... but other factors in the environment make a big difference. I'm not a tobacco farmer so there is obviously a lot better sources than my speculation.
