Ok, I had my first bowl of the day despite there being high wind warnings I managed to light my pipe with a match, well three, low and behold If I don't think it tastes different. I'm definitely going to have to try more of this to see. I might just be a match convert. I guess I'll have to get myself one of those antique match safes.

Lighter here, either butane or Zippo. Matches give a strange taste near the end of the bowl for me.

I prefer to use matches, but when I'm a sports bar with the guys I prefer my trusty zippo for pipes. Sometimes the guys will blow out my matches to see if I'll run out.

I prefer to light my pipe on naturally occurring wild fires. However, this method is difficult to employ while driving. I use my Corona Old Boy as back-up.

Matches, unless I'm on the lake or golf course where I use a

flint and wick Zippo. (Not crazy about gas lighters).

(Also, Zippo Fuel in the black can has less taste).

I prefer a good ol' Bic lighter. I've never been let down by one, they always light right off and I don't really think they effect anything past the third puff after a light. I've tried matches and they really seem to be more of a pain than they're worth.
