Lighter That Works In High Altitudes

I say get a zippo. For one thing you can get a good light going without risking burning ones tongue at any elevation from sea a human might reasonably be.

I'm at 8800ft. Bics will never fail you, except when they are cold. I've never, ever scorched a rim with a bic.

You can't beat high-altitude XIKAR butane. My go-to lighter at home is the Kiribi Kabuto. The zippo pipe lighter is inconsistent, but it works.

Nothing works in the wind.

The Xikar Purofine High Performance butane is the best out there, especially for high altitude. If you have any lighters that have a low flame or no flame problem I highly recommend you try this product. No I don't work for Xikar.

I ended up picking up am IM Corona Old Boy at the Stag Tobacco shop in Colorado Springs on my way up the mountain. They fill all of their lighters with High altitude butane. The Old Boy worked like a champ.
