Left a flake’s worth of OGS to dry a little bit last night and promptly forgot it. Just know realized this. When I get home after work it will have been 24 hours or so. Think it might still be salvageable or do I toss it?
Wrap it in wet towel for half a day. Perfectly smokable.

I’m in a similar position. I put a flake of 8 year old FVF into my Vesz billiard two days ago. I’m not going to get to it until tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Fingers crossed it’ll be dry enough to light, that is. Haha, but I am interested to see if I’ve ruined it or not.
How did that 8 year old FVF taste?

It’s really good, but not substantially different from the fresh stuff to me. I’d guess my palate isn’t sensitive enough to tell. More like warm bread, I’d guess. FVF is a treat because it seems to swirl with flavours but it’s all in the same genre.

I can’t tell any difference in sweetness, but then I smoke Mac Baren mixtures so I’m used to added sweetness, and none of these straight Virginias taste sweet by comparison.

I got it from a member here to see if I needed to cellar FVF to enjoy it. It turns out that no, I like it quite a bit at any age.

I've tried to dry out tobacco. Just doesn't mesh with me. If the tobacco was intended to smoke that way it would come dry. Blah blah blah about manufactures increasing water weight for sales or aging. Humectant can be a powerful player too. To me once that moisture is taken away tobacco smokes harsh, fast, and hotter. Kind of ironic to think the flavors we perceive are carried by moisture in our smoke, but we want the driest smoke possible. What do I know though ?
