No gator issues once the temp drops below 55. Besides, these are rice and flooded corn fields, no gators. Gators like deep canals where they can escape danger or marsh where they can hide.

Chicagoland. -6 when I went to work today. Now 15. Should stay around there for a while. At least the snow stopped.
Anyone else laughing at the ship caught in the ice while researching global warming?

Almost 60 degrees this afternoon, so I sat out with a bowl of H&H Victorian Stroll... Slight overcast, and the temperature is expected to drop into the 20s overnight. Winter in Colorado.

The high was 76 deg F, and sunny, although it felt warmer than that to me today. Wore a t-shirt all day, and smoked some Dunhill Flake at sunset on my front porch. I am not complaining.
Saw a lot of images of the storms back East. I lived 36 years in NYC, and I do not miss that aspect.

Oh FYI... It's been snowing all night here in Colorado. Usually whatever we get you guys out east will see it in a couple days. Sorry.

This thread reminds me of one of my favorite Tom Waits songs; Diamonds On My Windshield:
"Diamonds on my windshield

Tears from heaven

Pullin' in town on the Interstate

Pullin' a steel train in the rain
Wind bites my cheek

Through the wing

Fast flyin' freeway drive

It always makes me sing
Wisconsin hiker with a cue-ball head

Wishin' he's home in a Wiscosin bed

Fifteen feet of snow in the East

Colder than a well digger's ass"
Up in Alberta, Canada the last line "Colder than a well digger's ass" unfortunately applies for about 6 months of the year:)

I've hunted ducks with my retrievers for nearly 45 years and have never encountered an alligator. The less tourist hunters, the more migratory birds for us.
There is a reason we are labled, "Sportman's Paridise".

I don't want to live anywhere that people lack common sense!
