Pre-Republic Pete Shamrock ☘️ Been knocked around, got some street cred. I think this was one of first I ever fitted a stem to. Came in a lot I bought years ago without a stem. Great smoker.

Here is a group of four beaten up late 19th century meerschaum 'cutty' pipes I use as a traveling set since they are all 5' long and fit in my computer case bag easily. None of them have had new stems fitted since the old amber ones seem perfectly serviceable and they only get used when I am away from home.

About a third of the rack, depending on how worn a pipe must be. I'd nominate my first pipe, a St. Ives Tinder Box house pipe, probably made by Chacom, a bent pot with a vertical saddle stem and smooth finish, still in fine shape for smoking. Others might be a Kaywoodie Drinkless, a Nording Eriksen made when these were traditional shapes like my bent billiard, various MM cobs with Forever stems, a Yello Bole Checker, and so forth. It is notable how well many of these old standbys smoke. I love my more up-market treasures, but the old comfortable ones too.

That's not disgusting, that's something that is loved! I like it! Here's mine. A beat up old meer I call the FrankenMeer. Hole patched in it probably 90 years ago and someone at one point tried to saw the bowl in half and quit...

The Frankenmeer? I love it. Pipes that have some kind of history or novelty are very charming.

Heres another one of mine. It is one of the few non-cutty pipes I own. Again its about late 1890s with its original amber stem. Strangely enough I lent it to Ramazan of Meerschaum Depot who produced a dead copy of it which sells out as quickly as he has them made. Again its only about 5' long and takes a Philt Pad without too much hassle.

This is my first pipe, got it old but new for under a buck at a thrift store years ago. Just smoked it maybe almost a year and a half ago. I like it alot, but I didn't know what I was doing when I started smoking it, and it shows. It has a place of honor with my pipes.

The Dublin is an oversized Dr G that’s been way over buffed, the stem on it is a 6mm filter stem from a Medico that is made of an unidentified non-vulcanite material, it was given to me by a family member who smoked the living daylights out of it. I continue to do the same. The Dog is an old Yello Bole that just smokes like a champ. These are my beaters, yard, garage, out for a walk, doesn’t matter. 6ACB3316-E3C0-492F-9E83-883E582CD297.jpeg

So this pipe I got off amazon before I knew any better. I think its ebony. I know I know.... It's not a good wood. But what did I know right. Anyway turns out its a good little smoker last fall I decided to turn it into Frakenpipe for Halloween. Thus because it had developed some nasty cracks (one of the problems with ebony pipes) so I cut out the major cracked sections. Leaving 1 crack in place for visual effect (it's surface crack only) and then carefully sanded in briar blocks into place and glued in a little wood glue (non toxic) the wood at the back of the pipe I put a small veneer of olive wood on to look like a finger nail. 😂 It's actually a fantastic smoker. Looks like @##&& but it works. Still one of my fav pipes. On its 3rd stem now.
