Nice!
I have worked with several types of fruit/nut woods, important thing

is that you "must" put an ext. on the shank otherwise it is only a matter

of time before it cracks on ya...

Growing up on an citrus orchard, I remember the wood being pale. Be sure it is very dry, or it will crack very soon.

Nice pipe.

Stained with red maple to bring out the rings a little. It was white.

The wood is green. All the wood I use is green and they do get hot. They

are for display only a few are smoked and very little.

Working on a pipe and smoking in the afternoon is about as good as it gets.

I had a Camphor tree cut down and I been thinking about using it for a pipe.

Smoke it when i have a cold.

Thinking about it. The stain was a light brown color and turned the wood a

little yellow.

I can't believe that a pipe made of camphor would taste anything but horrible. It would look cool.

Well you all are right. Just burn some wood in a fire pit.

I still would like to see how the wood would looked tooled.

Wait till i have a cold. Fumes from the wood should brake the cold up.

i was going to say that the wood was free but I paid to have it dropped.

Good work Joe, I've seen Lemon wood used for traditional archery (making longbows) but never as a smoking pipe.

I started looking for Paronelli to see if he was the origin of my RomaSelectNaturalFreehand and encountered the name of Spanu...who fits this thread right here...on lemonwood pipes..

This is an intriguing idea. I like the botanical look of the bowl and shank. Could the lemonwood be cured/dried

enough so that it would be a regular smoke, or is it just an occasional smoker even after drying? What part of

the tree/shrub are you using, the trunk, the root, or limbs? I'm assuming this is an actual lemon-bearing tree?

Sorry to be inquisitive, but I haven't seen lemonwood featured in pipes before. Do you cut it with a power tool

or with wood carving knives or a pocket knife? With green wood, I would think the drying process might affect

the drilling, pulling it on or off center, etc. Anyway, interesting pipe, unique, and thanks for posting!
Also, went to the Spanu link; most interesting.
