I grew up in the ancient days before Lego. Our versions were more primitive and limited. Examples are Lincoln Logs, lengths of wood dowel with notches to build log cabins and similar structures; Tinker Toys, thinner dowels with round joint pieces that could attach them together; and Erector sets, various lengths and shapes of metal arms with holes in them that could be screwed together in multiple shapes and structures. There were a few pre-Lego plastic bricks that fit together, but nothing like the Lego system. Fascinating how the concept evolved and finally bloomed into the Lego empire, a breakthrough in toy construction sets.

I had some growing up, but I preferred Lincoln logs and tinker toys for some reason. And, I was always fascinated by my cousin's erector set. My own kids, for some reason, never wanted Legos.
But, as I get older, I have found that I really like Eggos.
Wait...
So you were fascinated with logs and erectors?
