Thanks, the small candle jar and the match holder that you see the base of were from each sets from (exclusively?) Tinderbox the others were from ebay. The smaller jar has a BAT "script Dunhill" logo that I got in a 2 jar set from Europe, one of the jars came broken and was replaced by the seller. I love the older AD era(block)jar that came from a well known collector that I picked up years ago. I want to get the 3 full size "tails Dunhill" logo 965, EMP and NC jars in the future.

As an aside, I have the 1980 PPD world conference "jar" pipes in the European, Root and US, Shell finish in the collection. 8O

I just won a Longchamps LEather-clad Briar off Ebay for $4.99+shipping. Total of about $8.99. The stem was oxidized from Hell, but still servicble. I fixed it with some 600 grit sandpaper, water and some wax. It was dirty so I broke out the Everclear and pipe cleaners and the leather had some staining on it. I used my usual wax (Burt's Bees) to moisturize it and plan to hit it with mink oil and a light-brown polish tomorrow.
Yes, I did the nasty and smoked it. It smoked great and cool! I did need a couple of relights, but considering the blasting I just gave it and the insane Texas weather it was NBD and truly, had i not been fiddling with it and just smoking, it may have needed no relights.
A keeper 100%
Shockers: Longchamps have an insert in the stem that looks like a drill bit. IT made me go WTF at first, and if you like to run cleaners down the tube while smoking, this will definitely screw your plan. Truth is, though, it smoked so cool I had no need of that.
I love it and I'm glad I bought it! And Hobie...here' yer pix:

So Until I sign my life away to unclearthur, I can still say, "No more than $15 for a pipe!"

Longchamps are great pipes. Started because a leather maker moved into an old pipe shop with some briar with fills. I have restored several. I like how it feels like you are holding a baseball! More info here: http://pipedia.org/index.php?title=Longchamp

Wherever the boat is moored
I have been up in Alaksa, running our yacht charters since April. We have been either on charter, cleaning up and provisioning for the next one , without a break until this week. Back out tomorrow for three more cruises and then south to Washington state for the winter. I will be scarce till then but I look forward to jumping back in then and seeing some of you in Vegas in November, i hope.
